How do you stay relevant with your old icons in a fast-paced world?

Nike continuously blows new light in their timeless icons with new designs and color options every week. But Nike doesn’t rely entirely on new colors. They are pioneers of storytelling and have just made a huge public campaign on just that fact.

They picked 3 very small and local designers in 5 of the world’s biggest capitals. Then they made them come up with a new sneaker design based on their view and focus of their city. The sneaker community had to vote for their favorite design, ending up in a big event where the 3 winners got honored and had their creation produced to the public.
