Guerilla Parade

HBO’s popular series “The Handmaid’s Tale” has made the whole world stop and stare.

During the last few weeks, more and more parades have evoked around the world from Times Square to Kongens Nytorv in Copenhagen. Women dressed up in iconic Handmaids’ cloaks wandered around the capitals slowly as if they were characters from the drama series.

This made people super curious about the series and turned the topics into what happened in front of bypassing citizens. The series won eight Emmys in 2017 and featured suppressed women, so-called “Handmaids”, in a futuristic universe, where the government consisted of corrupt, patriarchal men.
